Leadership
Peter Bluhon
Founder & Principal
Peter Bluhon has devoted his thirty-five-year career to advancing the public realm in three areas: collaborative policy planning, site-specific design and planning for the public sector, and residential landscape architecture.
Integrating philosophical method with planning and design, he brings a deep commitment to facilitating structured, empathic dialogue that helps communities untangle complex environmental resource and urban quality-of-life challenges. Early in his career, he served as Trail Director for the San Francisco Bay Area Ridge Trail Council, managing three county-based public–private partnerships that built the first 100 miles of the nationally recognized Ridge Trail.
He earned his B.A. in Philosophy from Pomona College, focusing on Existentialism and Buddhism—deepened by a semester of study in Sri Lankan Buddhist temples. He later completed his Master of Landscape Architecture at the University of California, Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design, where his work emphasized public participation in urban planning.
He lives Berkeley-adjacent (in Kensington), raises a tough teenage daughter, runs, and escapes to Marin County for mountain biking, kayaking, and hiking with friends.
